PAUL DEISS SMITH II

Paul Deiss Smith II is a composer, guitar player, and singer from Long Beach, CA whose music has been compared to Irone & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, John Michael Talbot, and The Eagles. His 2021 debut full-length album, The Pious Harp for The Weary Soul, ushers in stillness and internal quietude with an acoustic guitar and voice trio, string quartet, and trumpet. Gentle in performance but bold in conception, the instrumental arrangements behind the raw vocal harmonies are birthed from and resemble Paul’s sweet, gentle, and vibrant personality. This acoustic-folk music is deeply intertwined with his Christian spirituality, and he advocates the power of true rest with his new music on The Pious Harp for The Weary Soul.

I’ve planned and promoted concert events with internationally renowned core Catholic artists including Matt Maher and Fr. Rob Galea...and numerous others who contribute much to the Church’s mission of evangelization through their gift of music...The release of his freshman album has Paul poised to make an indelible impression on countless hearts in the Lord’s vineyard.” - Brian Kravec
